Description
The Romance of Fulk Fitz Waryn, which tells of the early Norman history of Ludlow and Whittington interwoven with fables and myths, was written in the 1260s. This edition is based on a modern translation but set in the style of a medieval manuscript with borders of painted illustrations largely based on medieval originals. These partly reflect the story, but also veer into the fantastical and the rude, as in manuscripts of that date.
Introductory sections tell of the writing of The Romance, the known history of Fulk III Fitz Waryn – the figure at the heart of The Romance, and the links between this tale and that of Robin Hood, along with how this edition came into being.
Limited edition of 150 copies, each numbered.
