This book describes over 100 Neolithic burial-ritual sites throughout Wales, in use c.4000–2000BC. It provides readers with an up-to-date account of the Neolithic, and details of the latest research and excavations throughout this part of Western Britain. The book is divided into ten thought-provoking chapters, richly illustrated with plans, drawings and photographs, which describe the various regional architectural styles used to venerate and house the dead.
Dr George Nash is an Associate Professor at the University of Coimbra, Portugal, and an Honorary Researcher within the Department of Archaeology, Classics and Egyptology, University of Liverpool. Dr Nash has directed excavations at the Neolithic burial-ritual monuments of La Hougue Bie and Delancey Park in the Channel Islands and various later prehistoric burial-ritual sites in Wales. Between 2015 and 2019, Dr Nash co-directed excavations at the Neolithic burial site of Trellyffaint, Pembrokeshire (with Carol Brook and Thomas Wellicome), uncovering a new chapter on the Neolithic in southwest Wales.
